Illustrations
Darlien Morales is a Puerto Rican illustrator and Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker whose work explores themes of adventure, environmental conservation, and cultural heritage. Her illustrations, known for their abstract interpretations of color and form, have been featured on book covers, crowdfunding campaigns, and commissioned by organizations such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Department of Natural Resources. She has shared her artistic discoveries at institutions including Savannah College of Art and Design, where she was a recipient of the Artistic Scholarship and later contributed to its Scholarship Gala and Silent Auction to support emerging artists.
As a filmmaker, Darlien specializes in visual storytelling that bridges science, history, and media. Her documentaries have won three Emmys and premiered at prestigious venues such as the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and Jackson Wild. She is also one of the few female underwater cinematographers from the Caribbean, capturing compelling narratives beneath the surface.
Currently, Darlien is developing a series of illustrations for a young adult book set for release in 2026 while continuing to produce immersive documentary content that highlights Puerto Rico’s cultural and ecological landscapes.

“Darlien's cover art is simply dazzling. And I sometimes wonder if people are buying the book to simply frame the cover.”
